Canton, December 9, 2009 – Local businesses put the keys-to-success in the hands of Cherokee county entrepreneurs at the third free, “5-Keys to Business Success” seminar scheduled for Tuesday, February 9 at the Frosty Frog in Canton's Hickory Flat.
The seminar was hosted twice previously by representatives from five local companies including Burke Archer, a corporate attorney at law; Kathy Stroup, First Cherokee State Bank Canton’s branch manager; Jey Willis, State Farm Insurance agent in Canton; Linda Lullie from Inspired 2 Design, an advertising agency and Wendy Corlett, owner of accounting service provider Acclaim Professional Services, Inc. – both of Ball Ground.
“Our team wants to help fill in the gaps that most business owners have when they’re getting started, and especially when the economy gets tough,” said Corlett, a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor whose talk focuses on keeping proper accounting records.
The seminar includes five topics – legal structure, financing, insurance, accounting, and marketing – each designed to inform entrepreneurs how to form, finance, insure, protect and brand their new or existing business. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions.
David William of Five Talents Wealth in Canton was one of over 20 business owners who attended the seminar. He said, “I found it both informative and useful. There were several key points discussed that answered my questions. Running a business in today’s economy is both challenging and sometimes difficult.”
“So many businesses fail because owners are spread so thin, and try to wear so many hats,” said Mrs. Lullie. “We hope to help them build a solid foundation by taking some pressure off.”
Anyone considering starting their own business, or who is in business for themselves, is welcome to attend this free event to be held Tuesday, November 9, 2010 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm in the meeting room of the Frosty Frog Creamery, 6199 Hickory Flat Highway, Suite 138, Canton Georgia 30115 (in the Publix shopping center on the northeast corner of Hwy 140 and East Cherokee Drive). Registrants are encouraged to come and enjoy a meal at the restaurant before the seminar begins, as registration opens at 5:30pm. Coffee and cookies will be served, and door prizes awarded.
